On The Road Episode #3

Awesome, guys! Way to spread the word about alternative fuels as well as using this period of your life to make a difference! Good on you! I, along with my family, live aboard a 67 year old converted tugboat, here in Juneau, Alaska and I have converted both my galley stove, which runs 24/7 and heats our hot water, and our boiler, that runs our hot water heating system, to run on WVO! It is my hope, in the near future, to be able to run both the tug's Aux Engine and the 398 CAT main engine, on WVO soon! Keep up the great work! Keep inspiring!

Good luck on your trip. I wish I would have done something like that when I was younger. Sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. I would love to see another video on the bus and the conversion. Great web site Leon, I'm looking forward to your new pump!!!

Yea, had the same comment when I saw the wood; while it is an easy material to work with it doesn't live long on a vehicle. Makings of an adventure for sure...

Good luck with your adventures. I've been all over this country a couple times, and can guarentee you will never have a dull moment. Wish I could have seen the setup a little better, but from what I did see, I am a little worried about all the use of wood. There's going to be an awful lot of vibration on the road.

I love seeing the many guys and gals that are using and promoting WVO as an alternative fuel.
Like others I began making Bio D, mainly so I would not have to modify my vehicles.
That is a very doable process and I had my process down to nearly foolproof.
I did not like having to deal with the chemicals. They can be dangerous but they are manageable.
There are disposal considerations for the glycerin and wash water that I just didn't want to mess with anymore.
Now both my vehicles run on WVO and I don't make bio anymore.

Good for you guys, I too have been doing a lot of this stuff all my life (now 64) and basicly it means when you see a resource that other people throw away it could hev great benefit to you.....

I started making bio fuel almost 15 years ago using the methanol and potasium hydroxide (nasty stuff) before everybody including the grease theaves who would steal your contracted grease, so it just made sense to look for another way..

Now I collect my fuels from marine outfits who typically have what they call old or contaminated gasoline, which in reality is perfect for cutting down the viscosity of the thick oils (without heat) and I also collect from them waste engine oils that I will cut down to the viscosity of diesel and then centrifuge the whole thing down to 1 micron and then it goes straight into the tank, no heat, and no chemicals and has more btu's than veg oil...
