Pumps and Tanks are Necessary
Pumps
12v
Hook up a 12v to a car battery and portable. These can be for collecting and filtering oil. You can use the battery from your vehicle or have a separate battery for these pumps. Deep Cycle Marine batteries work well for use with these pumps. The batteries need to be recharged from an electrical outlet or solar panel.
If you can afford it, buy a more robust and solid pump. The gear pumps tend to work best.
120v a/c
This plugs into a standard US electrical outlet. These pumps are faster and more robust than the 12v pumps. You get what you pay for with pumps. Buy WVO Pumps and Hose here
Cheap pumps will work for a bit, but will malfunction in less than ideal conditions and will likely break at the wrong time. Invest in a good pump.
Tanks
Barrels
55 Gallon Drums work nicely. They come in open top, or sealed. You can use a drum deheader to open up sealed drums. It works like a big can opener. Get these off craigslist or local scrap yards.
Totes
These big tank hold approximately 275 gallons of liquid. They can generally be purchased for ~$125 from Craigslist. Lots of times placed need to get rid of these. Try to find ones that have been used for virgin cooking oil or something nice like that.
Tank Fittings
Plumping the tanks is best done with bulkhead fittings/adapters, or tank adapters.
