1982-1994 Ford 7.3IDI
The first 7.3L was produced from 1988-1994. The original 7.3L diesel was a non-turbo charged indirect injection (IDI) engine, followed shortly after by a turbo charged version. It was very similar to the previous 6.9l IDI diesel engine, which was simply bored out for more torque. This engine is not considered in the powerstroke family.These trucks and vans lend themselves nicely to WVO Conversions. They have stout engines and IPs which can handle WVO when properly heated and delivered.
IP requires 4-7 PSI of fuel pressure at the lift pump. There is a stock mechanical pump which can be looped for running on veggie. See the fuel routing schematic below.
Use Aeromotive part #13301 to regulate the pressure.
