The centrifuges work very much like our solid bowl centrifuges except the bowl is perforated with hundreds of holes and a filter bag is placed inside as a liner. The feedstock is fed into the bowl \/filter bag and the liquid passes through leaving the solids trapped in the filter bag for easy removal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese are batch processors, meaning you add a batch of feedstock to the bowl and run it until you have reached the desired dryness of the cake. The bag with the cake is then removed and a new bag is replaced for the next batch. The whole batch process is automated and solids are scraped from the walls and ejected out of the lid while the unit runs controlled by PLC.
